Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, and prayers and peace be upon the noblest of creation and master of the messengers, Muhammad ibn Abdullah, and upon his family and companions.
Allah created man and instilled in him multiple instincts that he strives to fulfill, including self-love, possessiveness, desire for sovereignty, and worldly desires. As a result, disagreements and conflicts arise. For life to continue, Islam legislated judicial rulings to resolve and end disputes. The primary method for settling disputes is the judiciary. However, while a judicial ruling may legally resolve a conflict, it often fails to resolve the dispute from a social perspective and may even increase tension. Islam did not stop at this method for ending hostility but legislated another matter more pleasing to the soul, more conducive to acceptance and satisfaction, and further from malice and hatred: reconciliation (As-Sulh).
Therefore, I have chosen 'Reconciliation and its Applications in Personal Status' as the topic of my thesis due to its great importance.
