"Qutb Henna" is a social novel that explores a woman's struggle across different cultures and classes in Jordan, told through the story of a broadcaster who decides to speak out. She chooses to expose her story and her long journey of suffering in the hope of achieving her goals, shouting in the face of society that she is a free woman despite all the contradictions of her life, which she drew with henna, blending it with her skin and the skins of the dead and flayed animals.

This is what author Moatasem Subaih says about his new creative work, "Qutb Henna," a novel that tells its reader that a person is a product of their circumstances, which can either lift them up or bring them down. "Rana," the protagonist of this novel, had to choose between two paths: submission or rebellion. She chose the latter, realizing that life would not be fair to her if she were not strong.

This girl, born from the womb of an angel and sent to the belly of a beast, was left alone in a world ruled by men as soon as her eyes saw the light of day—starting with her father, uncle, and brothers, and continuing with the many husbands she married and divorced. Amidst this chaos, Rana had a dream: "drawing with henna." Being talented, she excelled at it to the point where she considered it the soul to her body. "The henna formed the most beautiful painting you can imagine on my skin. My screams were not just for the beauty of what I saw, but for the joy of my soul returning to my dead body."

This is the story of Rana, the artist and human who decided to live in a world of her own choosing, one she drew and inhabited within her own pole... the Henna Pole.
