Previous editions of this book have met with great acceptance and success in most universities and institutes in Jordan, Palestine, and several sister Arab countries, for which we feel a great sense of pride and gratitude. Despite our constant desire and awareness of the importance of making modifications to the book in light of the feedback we continuously received, we were unable to do so during the previous period due to a set of circumstances that we will not delve into here. However, we believe it has now become imperative for us to issue a new, revised edition that takes into account the suggestions and comments from many of our colleagues who have taught this book and our students who have used it in various microeconomics courses over the years. In this edition, we have tried to maintain the same style used in the original, but we have rearranged some parts, figures, and tables to make them more coherent and clear. We have also corrected some linguistic and typographical errors from the previous edition, in addition to providing new examples and additional questions and exercises to help students understand and absorb the topics explained.
