This book covers, in its first chapter, scale, its types, choosing the appropriate scale, and changing the map scale by enlarging or reducing it. It details the graphical method, squares, similar triangles, mechanical methods, and devices equipped with lenses, then determining the scale of an unknown-scale map. In the second chapter, it explains measuring distance and area from the map, planning to cover a land area with maps, and measuring slope from the map. It then moves to conical projections, their types, how to construct them, and their properties, and the equal-area conical projection with one standard parallel "Bonne's projection", explaining its construction methods, detailing the linear and mathematical construction, and then showing its properties.
