The Arabic library lacks publications covering the topics of production automation and its applications in industrial, agricultural, health, and other fields. With the spread of the industrial revolution, the increasing demand for products, growing competition, and the requirements of modern production processes, humanity began searching for ways to speed up production, reduce costs, and minimize effort, leading to the emergence of mechanization. Over time, the need arose to replace some manual labor and to connect production lines internally and externally with a set of equipment, which led to the concept of automation.

This book aims to introduce modern technologies and seeks to be a guide and a clarifier of the basic principles in technical fields. The book is divided into thirteen chapters. The first three chapters are an introduction to automation, production mechanization, the characteristics of mechanization and automation, and their technical and economic requirements. Chapter four specifies the economic advantages of the automation process, while chapters five and six detail the process of production automation and mechanization, and the means of automating control and inspection, such as sensing equipment, signal conditioning devices, and servo mechanisms. Chapter seven deals with automatic control systems, explaining their types and methods. Chapter eight discusses the automation of metal-cutting machines, chapter nine covers the automation of product monitoring processes, and chapter ten addresses the automation of parts handling. Chapters eleven and twelve are dedicated to in-factory transportation, storage automation, workshop clearance, and automatic transport machines. The final chapter covers the automation of assembly.
