Prayer in Islam is the second pillar of Islam. The Hadith states: 'On the authority of Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah say: “Islam is built upon five [pillars]: testifying that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, establishing the prayer, giving the zakat, fasting in Ramadan, and making the pilgrimage to the House if one is able to do so.”' And his saying: 'The head of the matter is Islam, its pillar is the prayer, and its peak is jihad in the way of Allah.'
