About the Book: The author was encouraged to collect his scattered writings, previously published in Arabic, and present them to the Arab reader as a pathway to understanding Pound. This is particularly crucial as scholarly interest often focuses solely on Eliot, overlooking the significant intersection between the two poets. While Eliot has garnered special attention from Arab readers, Pound remains relatively and unintentionally excluded from the Arab critical scene.
In memory of the three great poets—Pound, Eliot, and Darwish—this book presents an expanded and revised edition of comparative studies previously published in Arab journals such as Syria's *Al-Ma'rifa* and Iraq's *Al-Aqlam*. It aims to encourage Arab readers to delve deeper into Pound's challenging world, or at least to bring his work to their attention. The difficulty of Pound's poetry was acknowledged by Mahmoud Darwish himself, and this work also recognizes the valuable attempts by a few Arab critics, led by Subhi Hadidi in *Al-Karmel* magazine, to engage with his texts.
