Lebanese thinker Karim Mroue releases the first of two parts of his book, "Personalities and Dates in Politics, Thought, Literature, and Art." This work is a continuation of seven previous books published by the author in the last five years. In his introduction, he notes that this book has a "cognitive and renaissance function." However, it differs from previous works by being more comprehensive and diverse, covering a wider range of political, intellectual, literary, and artistic currents. Across both parts, the author explores fifty-three influential figures. This selection was not random; it was deliberately chosen to reflect the multiplicity, diversity, and differences that formed the basis of the knowledge and renaissance expressed through their stances and ideas—a cultural movement whose effects spanned from the beginning of the last century to its end.
This volume, Part One, focuses on "Figures in Politics and Thought," while the second part covers "Figures in Literature and Art." Featured personalities include Mustafa Kamel, Kamil al-Jadirji, Hamid Frangieh, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Khalil Mutran, May Ziade, Abu al-Qasim al-Shabi, Jaafar al-Khalili, Nizar Qabbani, Hanna Mina, Shawqi Baghdadi, and others.
