Sheikh Al-Nile Abdul Qadir Abu Qurun is a renowned Sudanese thinker, Sufi, and poet, born in the mid-20th century in the village of Abu Qurun in the east of the Nile, Sudan. The village was founded by his grandfather Sheikh Muhammad Abu Qurun, based on the teachings of the Quran and the prophetic guidance. It became a prominent center for the Qadiriyya Sufi order in Sudan.
Raised in a spiritual environment, Sheikh Al-Nile studied the Quran at his grandfather's school and later pursued formal education. He graduated with a degree in law from the University of Khartoum in 1970, where his thesis on folk heritage won the first Salamabi Award for Research. In 1971, he joined the Sudanese judiciary and served as a judge until 1985, advancing from assistant judge to district judge.
