This novel won the AFAC grant in the third session of the AFAC Novel Writing program, supervised by novelist Jabbour Douaihy.

A solitary young woman is in search of work and refuge amidst devastation. After being dismissed from the newspaper where she worked, she finds herself lost in Cairo's overwhelming whirlpool. Her thoughts are consumed by the woman who rented her a room due to her strange behaviors. As she tries to overcome her crisis, she encounters a group of young men who lead her to an underground world where escaping reality is their only means of survival. Amidst the perplexity of the woman's character and the mystery surrounding the owner of an antique shop, the novel's protagonist finds ample space for her delirium in Cairo's harsh streets, tough on those subsisting on illusions.
