Among the best of deeds, as is known to young and old, is prayer, and performing prayer at its appointed times. Prayer is valid, as is also known, whether performed individually or in congregation, but congregation is better. The congregation has an imam who is followed by those behind him. Since the imam holds a great position, it is incumbent upon every imam to know the conditions of the imamate, and this is, of course, a duty for the imam so that he is not unfit for it.
