This book theoretically examines the phenomenon of political violence in Algeria between 1962 and 2009. It focuses on the most widespread forms of political violence across the different stages of the Algerian political system's historical development, identifying the periods in which it intensified. The book sheds light on the various forces and groups in society that practiced this violence in every era, linking it to two variables: the written media and the Algerian elites. It extensively covers the final phase of political violence, which began with the security crisis in 1992.
