This book summarizes my journey in writing history, which began with the topic of 'Early Islamic History,' my specialization during my Master's degree. This stage provided me with excellent training in using early sources under the supervision of my late professor, the eminent Abdul Aziz al-Duri, whom I remember and praise for his contribution to the generations he taught. I am pleased to dedicate this effort to his peacefully resting soul.

I was fortunate to transition to modern history for my doctoral studies, specializing in the study of the Levant during the Ottoman era and giving great priority to the history of Jordan. This shift was perhaps pivotal in my research career, as it provided me with a solid foundation in the sound methodology for handling narratives from early Islam. Consequently, my transition to working with modern historical sources and Ottoman records was a secure one. Fortunately, my doctoral dissertation was supervised by the eminent Professor Dr. Mohammad Adnan Al-Bakhit, who established a new school for studying the history of Jordan during the Ottoman Tanzimat period.

I am delighted to present to the Arab reader the essence of this experience, both through my studies and the lectures I delivered at the invitation of various cultural institutions. What I offer here is not a traditional book with chapters, but a collection of studies organized by historical periods. I hope that through this work, my ideas will reach wherever the Arabic script has reached.
