'Development' is a political decision that includes subsidiary decisions in economics and society, a decision taken by a just and productive state. Abundant production without fair distribution is a monopoly, and equitable distribution without sufficient production spreads poverty and misery. Lebanon's efforts to address its sectarian political system's structural flaw will enable it to limit the geostrategic environmental repercussions that are widened and intensified by globalization and the communication revolution that turned the world into a global village. The connection between them lies in external powers exploiting internal weakness to their advantage, particularly when political clientelism has, unfortunately, become a part of public relations due to ideological bonds! An expressive saying goes: the problem is not with those who have died or recovered but with those stuck between life and death. Thus, the persistence of the current situation is an oppressive authoritarian choice that must be changed, not an existential fate to be surrendered to. This book is characterized by variety and comprehensiveness, focusing on the study of developmental jurisprudence and its origins, in light of general experiences and the specificity of Lebanese society. It includes both classical academic research and engaging journalistic presentation.
