This book discusses the methods and techniques of the art of helping. The original book contains about 384 pages, divided into twelve chapters covering topics related to the helping relationship and its core skills.

When discussing the helping relationship, many universities in the Arab world teach and qualify their students in the field of helping within educational, humanities, and medical sciences. This includes various specializations such as psychological and educational counseling, mental health, clinical and educational psychology, social service and social work, nursing, and physical and occupational therapy. Hence, there was a need for Arabic references that facilitate the understanding of the helping relationship and its skills for both students and practitioners in the field.

The translation of this book was accompanied by several challenges related to the multiple meanings of some terms or their incompatibility with the context, which could lead to losing the intended meaning. Cultural differences also posed an obstacle in some literal translations that might not align with Arab and Islamic culture. However, despite the inherent limitations of translation—stemming from the complexities of language and the possibility of various interpretations for certain words, phrases, or situations—the utmost effort has been made in translating 'The Art of Helping: Building Blocks and Techniques' from English to Arabic.
