In this collection, we present stories from various time periods, written by African authors from multiple countries. Here, we find both renowned and lesser-known authors, as well as representatives of the folkloric direction in literature and writers depicting urban life. This spectrum includes a wide range of styles and approaches, from spontaneity to realism and surrealism.

The short life scenes, psychological sketches, traditional life images, complex metaphors, impactful events, satirical tales, simple narratives, and symbolic conversations coexist not just on the pages of a single book but can unite into a true work because contemporary Africa breathes through these pages with all its contradictions: its kindness and ugliness, its wisdom and myth, and its poetic grandeur.
