This is my fourteenth book, among the books I began publishing, with God's grace, in the year 2000. I have dedicated my books to those who have shown me favor and nurtured my early writings. I dedicated my book "The Second Bank" to the soul of my father, may God forgive him, who instilled in me the love of reading and writing. When I opened my eyes to the world, I saw him reading a book, browsing a magazine, or looking at a newspaper. I dedicated my effort to him, hoping he would see it before his departure. And to the soul of my mother, Fatima Kamel Mohammed Al-Saffar, who despite her illiteracy, I found to be an intellectual peer in dialogue, discussion, and opinion; to her soul, I dedicated my book: "A Man Lays Down His Traveling Stick." I dedicated "Flashes and Visions" to the soul of the late dear professor Ahmed Shabib Habib (Abu Sarim), who sponsored my writings when he supervised the cultural page of "Al-Iraq" newspaper during the eighties of the last century. I dedicated my book "Illuminations and Utterances" to the soul of the researcher and writer Abu Bashar Abdul Ghani Al-Mallah, who supported my early writings in the cultural section of "Al-Ta'akhi" newspaper in the early seventies of the twentieth century. And to the soul of my professor Dr. Salah Khalis, a friend, teacher, and supporter of my early writings in his magazine "Al-Thaqafiya" in the early seventies, I dedicated my book "In the Workshop of Criticism." This is in addition to those who helped me choose my topic for my master's degree: my professor at the Arab History and Scientific Heritage Institute for Higher Studies in Baghdad, Dr. Hazim Al Ashish, who chose for me to write on Quranic readings, specifically the reading of Abu Bakr ibn Ayyash al-Asadi, the reciter of Kufa and narrator of Arab news, which had not been studied before; and with the support of my friend who held two doctorates, Abbas Kazem Murad, who was assassinated by infidel terrorism in front of his home.
