In this work, Imam Al-Suyuti chronicles the history of Muslim caliphs. He presents biographies of the Caliphs, Commanders of the Faithful, responsible for the affairs of the nation, from the era of Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, may Allah be pleased with him, up to his own era during the Abbasid state. The history is arranged chronologically, detailing unusual events of their times and the notable religious leaders and figures of each era.
