He provides biographies for the Commanders of the Faithful who were in charge of the Ummah's affairs, from the time of Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) to his own era (i.e., the time of Imam Al-Suyuti), covering the Abbasid Caliphate.
