Hashiyat al-Jarhazi on Al-Manhaj Al-Qawim bi Sharh Masail Al-Ta'lim - Printed and published for the first time.
Al-Manhaj Al-Qawim bi Sharh Masail Al-Ta'lim by the crown of later jurists and the pillar of verifying scholars, Ibn Hajar al-Haytami, has been the focus of great jurists who clarified its text and unveiled its brilliance. They excelled in crafting glosses (hawashi) on it, showed creativity in their explanations, and competed in the arena of precision.
Among those who followed the path of these nobles was the scholar Abdullah bin Sulaiman al-Jarhazi al-Zabidi. He unveiled the face of this explanation and gifted every Shafi'i with his gloss, in which he demonstrated the quality of his jurisprudence and genius.
While Al-Manhaj Al-Qawim received great care befitting the stature of its author and commentator, the numerous glosses are not equal in their methods, united in their purposes, or similar in their handling of details. The saying of the scholars holds true: "No book can replace another."
Particularly since one of the principles of glosses is that they do not commit to clarifying every text, as that is the function of commentaries. Therefore, you may find scholarly treasures in this gloss and other benefits in that one, and so on.
Al-Jarhazi's gloss has characteristics that elevate its importance, containing rare citations that are unknown to many students. It is marked by a character of verification and exudes the fragrance of meticulousness from its folds.
The most important of these characteristics, and the most beneficial by consensus, is that the scholar al-Jarhazi specifies the relied-upon opinion among the Shafi'is from two or more sayings on a matter, often supporting it with evidence. This is one of the noblest objectives and most useful benefits, especially for beginner students of knowledge, as it guides them to the endorsed and reliable view in the school of thought.
Furthermore, Dar Al-Minhaj has focused its main efforts on extracting books from the world of manuscripts and arranging them into publications, after subjecting them to rigorous scholarly review by a specialized academic committee. This is done in service to knowledge and for the benefit of the Ummah, in a time when material greed has run rampant, causing our heritage to be published in a distorted manner, with exceptions only for those who know the value of knowledge and revere the heritage of our predecessors.
