About the Author:

Dr. Naima Shoman, born in Aleppo, 1932. She traveled to Algeria in 1970 to study economics at the University of Constantine. In 1973, she moved to France and earned her first doctorate from the Sorbonne University - Paris 1 in 1976. She worked as an economic expert at the 'Union de Banques Arabes et Françaises' (UBAF) in Paris, rising to the position of Director of Economic and Financial Studies. She has participated in numerous international conferences, including the UN International Conference at UNESCO in Paris in 1989.
