Dr. Maher Nasser is a specialist in cardiovascular diseases, practicing in the hospitals of the Houston Medical Center since 1981. He began his journey to America in 1974, where he trained in internal medicine and then cardiology at Yale University hospitals in Connecticut. He is a professor at Baylor College of Medicine and a consultant in cardiology at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center and Houston Methodist Hospital. He holds several certifications from the American Board of Cardiovascular Disease and is a fellow of major organizations including ACC, AHA, SCAI, and others. Originally from Shebaa, his hometown in southern Lebanon, fate led him to settle in Houston, Texas. He has contributed significantly to Arab American medical organizations. He resides in Houston with his wife, daughters, and sons. He aspires for the day when stability, peace, and security are achieved in Lebanon and the surrounding Middle Eastern countries, and hopes that future generations will accomplish what the present generation could not.
