In this novel, the Sudanese author Amir Tag Elsir narrates the story of "Khameela," a beautiful young woman who inherited her beauty from her Italian mother and wealth from her father. Returning from Egypt to her diverse hometown in Sudan, "Al-Sour," she encounters the "Faction of Memory and History," a group that declared a holy war against unbelievers, ravaging the city with violence. Women were taken as captives and destined to become concubines for the revolution's leaders, depicted as "colorful flowers consumed by fire." Khameela, whose name is changed to "Na'anah," anticipates her arranged marriage to one of the revolutionaries.
