Sorrow dominates most of Faisal Qat's poems, making them appear like streams of sadness through which melancholic water flows. Although the poet draws his sorrow from the past and present, and also looks to the future with sadness, he does not treat it as an individual or special case. Instead, he deals with this sorrow in its broader human context—where a person who creates the causes of their own sadness on one hand, finds that same sorrow imposed upon them on the other.
