Praise be to Allah, the One Singular in Majesty and Perfection, to Him belongs all Grace, Praise, and the ultimate return. We praise Him - Glory be to Him - with the praise of the grateful who acknowledge His blessings. And whatever of blessings you have, it is from Allah. To Allah be praise that fills the heavens, the earth, what is between them, and whatever He wills thereafter. We send prayers and peace upon the best of all God's creation, our Prophet and beloved Muhammad, the seal of the prophets, master of jurists, and leader of the pious, the unlettered Prophet to whom the scholars submitted. May God's prayers and peace be upon him, his family, and his companions in abundance until the Day of Judgment... And now,

Since its inception, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has adopted the free economy system in its broad sense, which allows for freedom of trade under fair competition and respect for the regulations and instructions that organize it, encouraging the initiatives of the private sector as an important hub for economic activity. From this standpoint, the state has encouraged the private sector to contribute to joint ventures with foreign companies and invest in new production capacities using the latest technologies. It has adopted many financial and organizational measures that support and increase its contributions. The Kingdom has issued regulations and instructions that organize commercial dealings in accordance with the teachings of our tolerant Sharia. With the growth of the Kingdom's economy and the flourishing of its trade as a result of the freedom enjoyed by Saudi merchants, the Kingdom has become one of the leading countries in the field of free economy and contribution to international trade.

In this book, we cover the definition of commercial law and commercial activities. We also highlight the general provisions for merchants in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by addressing commercial work in Islamic Sharia, the Commercial Court Law (issued by Royal Decree No. M/32 dated 15/1/1350 AH), and the Commercial Books Law (issued by Royal Decree No. M/61 dated 17/12/1409 AH) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We also shed light on the general provisions for companies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by studying companies in Islamic jurisprudence and the Saudi Companies Law issued by Royal Decree No. M/6 dated 22/3/1385 AH.

Finally, we ask Allah for success and guidance, and to make this work purely for His noble sake. He is the guardian of that and capable of it. May Allah's prayers be upon the best of His creation, Muhammad, and upon his family and companions.
