The Explanation of Al-Muqaddimat Al-Ajurrumiyya, also known as Matn Al-Ajurrumiyya, is a book in the science of Arabic grammar authored by Ibn Ajurrum. It begins with a discussion on speech and its types and proceeds with subjects in an innovative style that is accessible for students. Considered one of the most important texts in Arabic grammar, its significance is such that it has been elaborated on by great scholars and grammarians in the past. It is taught in most language and Shariah universities. Scholars have relied on it and exchanged it through memorization, recitation, and classification, resulting in dozens of commentaries and annotations on this small book. It serves as the first building block in the important field of grammar. Some recommend reading or even memorizing with this small book, the book (Al-Amil Al-Jarjani) in some parts of the Islamic world to complete the art. This point of grammar knowledge is very beneficial for beginners, and if they wish to progress to the second level, they read Al-Qatr, its commentary, and after that, they qualify for Al-Alfiyah, at which point they do not need any other Arabic books. One of the helpful explanations of this text is "Explanation of Al-Muqaddimat Al-Ajurrumiyya" by Sheikh Muhammad ibn Salih Al-Uthaymeen, may Allah have mercy on him.
