This study aimed to evaluate and develop the employee performance evaluation system at the Tigris and Euphrates Bank for Development and Investment. The research problem was defined by several questions, the most important being: Is the effectiveness of the performance appraisal system at the bank actually weak? This involved investigating the effectiveness of the employee performance evaluation system at the bank.
To achieve the study's objective and answer the research questions, it was applied to a sample of 40 employees, including 10 department managers, who completed a questionnaire. The questionnaire served as the main tool for data collection, supplemented by documents, personal interviews, and field observation. For the purpose of analyzing the responses, several statistical methods were used, including percentages, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, coefficient of variation, Spearman's rank correlation coefficient, and other tests.

The study recommended the necessity of considering the components for building the performance appraisal system at the bank and adopting the proposed form instead of the current one. It also recommended the importance of informing the employee of the evaluation results and persuading them of their performance weaknesses through an in-depth, objective dialogue. Furthermore, it emphasized highlighting the strengths in their performance to instill confidence that the evaluator is objective and their goal is to help the employee develop, while also allowing for objections to the evaluation results through precise and scientifically convincing justifications for the bank.
