The novel's events occur in two different eras. Elias and Sandra, from our current time, are lovers kept apart by Sandra's father, who insists on marrying her off only to a policeman like himself. When Sandra and Elias try to find a solution to be together, they find themselves in a time not their own, a time they have only read about in books, encountering characters and creatures they have only seen in legends. How will they return?
