This novel tells the story of a group of intellectuals who are somewhat rebellious, poor, frequent cafes, and indulge in alcohol and desires for women and sex. Some of them reveal material and cultural-literary thievery. The story humorously and lightly critiques the current situation in Syria socially and economically, exposing the drowning of predominant culture in post-cultural mire.
