Al-Samawal bin Gharid bin Adiya Al-Azdi, a wise pre-Islamic poet. Resident of Khaybar (north of Medina), he moved between it and his fortress called 'Al-Ablak'.
His most famous poem is Lamiyyah, starting with:
If a person does not taint their honor with disgrace... Then every cloak they wear is beautiful. It is one of the finest poems. Some literary scholars attribute it to Abdul Malik bin Abdul Rahim Al-Harith.
