"The Great Diwan" we are about to read is one of the masterpieces of human thought and a unique impact on Sufi poetry in general and Islam in particular. It is the culmination of Sheikh Muhyiddin Ibn Arabi's work, offering a transition from one benefit to another.

It compiles his various opinions and theories, almost including everything found in his other writings. He recorded in it the finest poetry that settled in his soul and his consistent views. The work presents Sufi perspectives and addresses the varied issues of esoteric thought in Islam broadly.
