Preparing learners to live in a rapidly changing society requires educators to help them adapt by providing opportunities and training them to solve problems on their own. This can be achieved if we respect their ways of thinking and uncover their latent potential, guiding them on a path to become problem-solvers who are adapted to their environment.

The nature of this era urgently needs unconventional thinkers; thinkers distinguished by higher-order skills suitable for this age. Because this is the age of creativity, there has been a recent increase in interest in improving and developing higher-order thinking skills among school students at all levels, a matter urged by modern research and studies.

Unfortunately, many of our schools rarely provide students with opportunities to undertake educational tasks stemming from their own curiosity or based on questions they raise themselves. Although the majority of those in the educational field are convinced of the importance of developing students' thinking skills and emphasize that the school's mission is not to cram students' minds with information but rather to encourage thinking and creativity, they coexist with the prevailing practices in our schools, and none have tried to break the mold. Therefore, this book aims to provide information useful for developing thinking in general, and creative thinking in particular, among both ordinary and creative students by identifying their traits and most important characteristics.

From this standpoint, the role of the teacher, the school, and the educational institution emerges in building an individual capable of facing these challenges. Students need help to discover and bring forth their inherent potential for originality. Modern methods can assist in this. This aligns with the contemporary educational trend that focuses on developing a student's abilities, skills, and attitudes by teaching them how to accomplish tasks. The list of educational goals has expanded to include performance skills, critical thinking skills, creative thinking skills, problem-solving, and decision-making. Educators worldwide are now focusing on teaching students higher-order thinking skills, metacognitive skills, and habits of mind, and the modern educational system has become skills-centered.
