This study aimed to investigate the effect of teaching science using problem-solving and concept mapping methods on students' acquisition of scientific concepts, development of creative thinking skills, and their scientific attitudes. To achieve this goal, the study sought to answer the following questions:
The study sample consisted of (79) sixth-grade students from Rawdat Al-Ma'aref National College and Schools, under the Directorate of Private Education in Amman. They were randomly distributed among three sections: the first experimental group studied science using the problem-solving method, the second experimental group used the concept mapping method, and the third section was the control group, which studied science using the traditional method.
The 'Matter' unit from the sixth-grade general science textbook was re-processed twice: once according to the problem-solving method for the first experimental group, and a second time according to the concept mapping method for the second experimental group. Additionally, a teacher's guide was prepared to assist in teaching each group according to its designated method.
