This philosophical work explores the issue of material reason embedded within Western philosophical texts. The material reason is regarded both as a pioneering epistemic concept and a central one governing Western thought, irrespective of the topics it explores. Therefore, the main question concerning this issue is: How did Al-Messiri engage with the concept of reason in contemporary Western philosophy? Is it possible to attribute the diverse philosophical texts back to a single epistemic notion, that of material reason? Can we confidently assert, like Al-Messiri, that material reason is the sole driver of contemporary Western philosophical paths? If material reason has perilous consequences for Western philosophy, how can we avoid this? And what cognitive alternative did Al-Messiri propose as a transcendental vision for material reason?

Addressing these questions, which are inherently connected to a problematic concern dominating Al-Messiri's mind and emotions and expressed in various rich and intricate texts, requires me to adopt the strategy of: approach, which I see as the most suitable method to approach Al-Messiri's vision of reason, whether as a critical, deconstructive, or constructive vision that analyzes the components of the issue into defined elements.
