Equipped with the era's latest advancements, they were optimistic. But as they entered a second summer amidst the Arctic without thaw, they became trapped in an icy nightmare of relentless cold and endless dark.

In relentless cold, with dwindling supplies, 126 men fight for survival amid poisoned food, diminishing coal reserves, and ships collapsing under crushing ice. Yet, their real enemy is far more terrifying.

After the harrowing death of expedition leader Sir John Franklin, Captain Francis Crozier takes command, leading the remaining crew in a desperate attempt to flee southward through the ice. Accompanying them is a silent Inuit woman, possibly their salvation or doom.
