Ultimately, it was Al-Hallaj's view that if he failed to realize his idea, he should follow Christ, who offered his blood as a sacrifice to God and washed away the sins of humanity with a torrent from his human essence, to unveil the veil of the body from their eyes and to clear their minds and understandings of the ignorance, heedlessness, and delusion they were in.
