This is a commentary on 'Dalil al-Talib li-Nayl al-Matalib' by Imam Mar'i ibn Yusuf al-Karmi. The original text is a wonderful and sublime composition, simple in its phrasing yet profound, concise in its indications yet broad in scope. It is brief without being deficient, and extensive without being tedious. The author stipulated that he would only include what was confirmed as sound by the masters of verification and knowledge, and upon which the fatwa rests among the scholars of preponderance and precision. Early students of knowledge preferred to begin by memorizing the text of 'Al-Dalil' due to its clarity and ease of memorization. A multitude of scholars and distinguished individuals have praised it and dedicated efforts to explaining, versifying, and annotating it. Sheikh Imam Al-Alama Al-Fadil Mustafa al-Dumani al-Dimashqi, the Imam of the Hanbali portico at Al-Azhar Mosque, wrote this noble and refined commentary. In it, he clarified what was ambiguous, established many issues, expounded on numerous gems, and uncovered scattered wonders selected from important reports by Sheikh Uthman ibn Ahmad al-Futouhi, the grandson of the author of 'Muntaha al-Iradat', Sheikh al-Sawalhi, and Sheikh Yusuf, from what they wrote on 'Dalil al-Talib'.
