Mohammed Aitani, born in Beirut in 1926, wrote stories, novels, essays, and practiced artistic literary criticism, showcasing various aspects of world literature. He actively contributed to the progressive literary movement since the 1950s, and his presence was significant in both cultural and struggle movements. Among his published creative works are: 'Things That Do Not Die' (stories), 'Abu Fayad's Barricade' (novel), and 'Citizens of a Tentative Nationality' (stories). His novel 'My Beloved Sleeps on a Bed of Gold' was written in 1972 and published in 1986. His last creative work, published in 1986 in 'Al-Tariq' magazine, is the first three chapters of his autobiography entitled 'River of Time'. Mohammed Aitani passed away on March 20, 1988.
