The story is about two teenagers and childhood friends, Arnie Cunningham and Dennis Guilder. Arnie is a socially awkward boy with an unattractive face and often faces bullying at his high school. However, Dennis always stands by his side, being a great support and friend. Due to Arnie's skill in mechanics and car repairs, he became obsessed when he saw a worn-out and non-drivable Plymouth Fury. He used all his skills, strength, and money to repair the car and fell in love with it as if it were a girl he would marry. It even became known as 'Christine.' But it wasn't an ordinary car and never was. This is its strange tale, recounted by Dennis, Arnie's friend.
