This book highlights the importance of the family in building a strong, stable society, drawing upon Quranic texts and Prophetic traditions (Hadith) that establish the family as the fundamental unit of society. It is founded on the marital bond blessed by God, with the husband and wife as its core elements. Islam encourages marriage in numerous verses, viewing the ideal marriage as intertwined with proper upbringing, a natural human inclination, and a social benefit. The book outlines the criteria for a righteous wife and husband, defines the rights of spouses and children, and discusses the wisdom behind polygamy.
The second unit covers the recommended practices for welcoming a newborn, including the announcement, the call to prayer (Adhan and Iqama) in the baby's ear, the practice of Tahnik, naming, head shaving, the sacrifice of Aqiqah, circumcision, and breastfeeding, noting the benefits for both mother and child.
The third unit focuses on building a strong faith: instilling love for Allah, His Messenger, his family, and his companions; teaching the child the Holy Quran and the Prophetic Sunnah; fostering steadfastness in faith; and teaching the pillars of prayer, fasting, charity (Zakat), and pilgrimage (Hajj), guiding the child to the mosque through engaging role modeling.
The fourth unit emphasizes moral and personal development, cultivating virtues such as honesty, trustworthiness, and keeping secrets. It addresses emotional aspects like showing mercy to children, playing with them, and caring for orphans, as well as physical development through activities like swimming, archery, and horse riding, and practices like using the Siwak (tooth-stick), maintaining cleanliness, and using natural remedies.
