"The Mosque of the Caliphs" in central Baghdad, dating back to the third Hijri century, when Baghdad was the capital of the caliphate, when Baghdad was truly "Baghdad"...

To an unforgettable afternoon prayer my father took me to, which I carried like a tattoo in my veins, even though today the memory seems distant as if I prayed it in the third Hijri century!

I dedicate the book to the "Mosque of the Caliphs," to its foundations that seem today on the verge of collapse.

Hoping that the book contains what strengthens it...

Or contributes to its construction... on new foundations...

And hoping that Baghdad returns to itself...
