Whenever darkness embraced the hills and slopes of the village, and the whistling wind grew stronger outside, during those days, nothing was more delightful than gathering around the fire and asking my grandmother to tell us a story. Most of the tales in this book are ones I heard from people or witnessed in life's theater. I only made changes in events as required by the art of storytelling. As for the characters, some have departed this life leaving a good impact, and some are still alive, for whom we wish long life. The names are fictitious, except for a few. The author, Emile Munzer, was born in Kfar Qatarah, Chouf District - Mount Lebanon in 1959. He holds a postgraduate diploma from the Lebanese University in Arabic Language and its Literature. He is currently preparing a doctoral thesis in the same field. His published works include: 'Road to the Homeland' (a national novel), Al Maktaba Al Ahliyya, 2009; 'Evening Tales' (a collection of stories), Dar Al Farabi, 2012.
