Culture is the set of standards that shape the system of mind and behavior in a society or group, defining the individual's and the group's perception of themselves, others, and the universe. Consequently, it determines the nature of behavior and plays a crucial role in defining the identity of societies. In our era of globalization, where unification seems dominant, a critical question arises: What is the fate of our identity, our native culture, and our history? A global culture is emerging, transcending national and local boundaries. While some may describe it as superficial, consumerist, or a cultural invasion, its spread at the expense of local cultures is an undeniable reality. Condemnation or rejection alone cannot stop its advance without offering a competitive cultural alternative. This new global culture is not just about trends or 'Americanization'; it stems from a single epistemological source—the empirical, which is the foundation of modern science. Its dominance displaces other sources of knowledge, forming the core of globalization. This book discusses Arab culture within this context, where the author, through objective analysis, seeks to answer how to position Arab culture correctly amidst cultural globalization. He argues that the only way to avoid dissolution or isolation is through active 'participation' in shaping the new global culture. Absolute rejection is counterproductive and ultimately leads to the erosion of one's own identity, much like historical cultures that disappeared because their only defense was refusal without understanding or positive engagement. Ultimately, globalization does not necessarily mean a monolithic culture, but a shared one where diverse native cultures can be presented.
