'Approximation of Tuhfat al-Ashraf by Knowledge of the Ends' is a hadith encyclopedia organized alphabetically by the Companions’ musnads and their narrators in the six authentic books. Books of ends are distinguished from musnads in that musnads cite the full hadith, whereas the authors of the ends mention only a part of it. The primary aim of compiling this book was to gather the hadiths from the six books in a way that makes it easy for the reader to find their various chains of transmission in one place.
