Dear reader, in an attempt to shed light on the field of applied statistics using the SPSS program, I present this book to you to clarify the importance of studying applied statistics in making decisions related to experimental research, and in an effort to provide a distinguished service to students who are steps away from entering the field of scientific research, or have already entered it.
If a researcher must study and understand the steps of scientific research, they must also become familiar with the statistical methods used with different types of research, whether experimental or descriptive, to reach accurate, logical, and quick research results. This relies on broadening one's intellectual horizons, an open mindset, curiosity, a continuous desire to learn, searching for the true causes of events and phenomena, ensuring accuracy and sufficient evidence to reach decisions and judgments, and believing in the importance of the social role of science and scientific research.
The field of applied statistics using the SPSS program has begun to dominate in various research sites in different universities and international, regional, and local research centers. Applied statistics has benefited every current field, facilitating and simplifying its results, becoming an essential building block and an indispensable pillar.
This book consists of six chapters. The first chapter covers an introduction and definition of the SPSS program, explaining how to run the program, the Data Editor window, the output window, types of statistical data, and SPSS icons.
The second chapter deals with the menu bar, explaining the Data Editor menu bar and the output window menu bar.
The third chapter covers the Data Editor, explaining data entry, renaming variables, defining variables, and saving the file.
The fourth chapter discusses Output and Modifying Data, explaining how to open a file, use statistical procedures, handle outputs, request information about variables, and modify variable values.
The fifth chapter addresses Statistical Tests (Analyze), covering reports, Descriptive Statistics which includes (Frequencies, Percentile Values, Central Tendency measures, Dispersion measures, and Distribution shape), Descriptives, Explorer, Cross tabs, Comparing Means which includes (Means, One-Sample T Test, Independent-Sample T Test, Paired - Sample T Test, One-Way ANOVA, and Two-Way ANOVA), and Correlate which includes (Bivariate Correlations, and Partial Correlations).
The sixth chapter covers graphs, including how to create them in different ways and paste them into other programs.
Hoping from the Almighty God, Lord of the Great Throne, that this book will be a new addition to the field of applied statistics using the SPSS program, and that it will benefit researchers in this field.
