From the novel: When love throws you into a pot of fire, you will emerge safe and sound from the world. You will carry wishes with you, in every corner of your soul. You will be content with it and the fire. It will scorch you but not melt you, it will strengthen the bones of determination within you, and it will freeze your pursuit of the impossible. But when it throws you into the vessel of loss, you will not melt, but you will vanish. You will forget yourself, knock on your own door and open it to deceive yourself. Tears will freeze in your eyes and burn with sorrow. Sighs will sting you and repel all joy.
