Al-Muwatta is a book by the Imam of the city of migration and its preserver, its scholar Malik bin Anas. It is considered one of the earliest books of Hadith. It was named Al-Muwatta because Imam Malik presented it to seventy jurists from Medina, who approved of it. The book combines Hadith and jurisprudence, as the reader notices that Imam Malik aimed to clarify the consensus of the people of Medina on jurisprudential issues.
