Abu Hamid Muhammad al-Ghazali is one of the thinkers who left a significant mark on the history of Islam, and his writings have garnered the attention of researchers and thinkers in the West. This study explores an important, yet not fully examined, dimension of al-Ghazali's work: his polemical debates with the Ismailis during the Fatimid era and the early stages of the Alamut period. Al-Ghazali authored several works refuting the principles of Ismaili doctrine, the most profound of which was "Kitab al-Mustazhiri". The author addresses the main themes and arguments al-Ghazali presented in this book, while also analyzing the ways in which al-Ghazali himself was influenced by the Ismailis.
