Abdallah Hilal was born in 1947 in Saraqib, northern Syria. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Arabic Literature from Beirut Arab University in 1978. He worked as an Arabic language teacher for several years and has authored several novels and poetry collections. The novel "Al-Bardawil" is his first published work.
