Abdullah bin Umar bin Amr bin Uthman bin Affan Al-Umayyad Al-Quraishi, Abu Omar. A celebrated poet known for his romantic verse, reminiscent of Umar bin Abi Rabi'a. Renowned for his love of entertainment and hunting. He was considered among the elite and was an esteemed knight.
He accompanied Maslama bin Abdul Malik in battles in Roman territories and bravely fought alongside him. Al-Arji hailed from Mecca and earned his nickname from residing in the village of Al-Arj in Taif.

He was imprisoned by the governor of Mecca, Muhammad bin Hisham, on charges concerning the murder of Abdullah bin Umar's servant, and remained in prison until his death.
